Rendering (food processing) for Industrial packaging materia...
10watt Solar Panel ,
(Redirected from Rendering (industrial))
Rendering is a process that converts waste animal tissue into stable, value-added materials. Rendering can refer to any processing of animal byproducts into more useful materials, or more narrowly to the rendering of whole animal fatty tissue into purified fats like lard or tallow. Rendering can be carried out on an industrial, farm, or kitchen scale.
The majority of tissue processed comes from slaughterhouses but also includes restaurant grease and butcher shop trimmings, expired meat from grocery stores, the carcasses of euthanized and dead animals from animal shelters, zoos and veterinarians. This material can include the fatty tissue, bones, and offal, as well as entire carcasses of animals condemned at slaughterhouses, and those that have died on farms (deadstock), in transit, etc. The most common animal sources are beef, pork, sheep, and poultry.
The rendering process simultaneously dries the material and separates the fat from the bone and protein. A rendering process yields a fat commodity (yellow grease, choice white grease, bleachable fancy tallow, etc.) and a protein meal (meat & bone meal, poultry byproduct meal, etc.).
Rendering plants often also handle other materials, such as slaughterhouse blood, feathers and hair, but do so using processes distinct from true rendering.

Process variations
The rendering process varies from plant to plant in many ways.
Whether the end products are to be used as human food is based on the type of raw material and the processing methods.
Whether the end products are to be used as animal or pet food
The material may be processed wet or dry. In wet processing, either boiling water or steam is added to the material causing fat to rise to the surface, while in dry processing, fat is released by dehydrating the raw material.
The temperature range used, whether high or low.
Processing may be either in discrete batches or in a continuous process.
The processing plant may be operated by an independent company that collects the material on the open market, or by the packing plant that produced the material.
Rendering processes for edible products
Edible rendering processes are basically meat processing operations and produce lard or edible tallow for use in food products. Edible rendering is generally carried out in a continuous process at low temperature (less than the boiling point of water). The process usually consists of finely chopping the edible fat materials (generally fat trimmings from meat cuts), heating them with or without added steam, and then carrying out two or more stages of centrifugal separation. The first stage separates the liquid water and fat mixture from the solids. The second stage further separates the fat from the water. The solids may be used in food products, pet foods, etc., depending on the original materials. The separated fat may be used in food products, or if in surplus, it may be diverted to soap making operations. Most edible rendering is done by meat packing or processing companies.
An alternative process cooks slaughterhouse offal to produce a thick lumpy stew which is then sold to the pet-food industry to be used principally as tinned cat and dog foods. Such plants are notable for the offensive odour that they can produce and are often sited well away from human habitation.
Rendering processes for inedible products
Materials that for aesthetic or sanitary reasons are not suitable for human food are the feedstocks for inedible rendering processes. Much of the inedible raw material is rendered using the "dry" method. This may be a batch or a continuous process in which the material is heated in a steam jacketed vessel to drive off the moisture and simultaneously release the fat from the fat cells. The material is first ground, then heated to release the fat and drive off the moisture, percolated to drain off the free fat, and then more fat is pressed out of the solids, which at this stage are called "cracklings" or "dry-rendered tankage". The cracklings are further ground to make meat and bone meal. A variation on a dry process involves finely chopping the material, fluidizing it with hot fat, and then evaporating the mixture in one or more evaporator stages. Some inedible rendering is done using a wet process, which is generally a continuous process similar in some ways to that used for
edible materials. The material is heated with added steam and then pressed to remove a water-fat mixture which is then separated into fat, water and fine solids by stages of centrifuging and/or evaporation. The solids from the press are dried and then ground into meat and bone meal. Most independent renderers process only inedible material.
History
The development of rendering was primarily responsible for the profitable utilization of meat industry by-products, which in turn allowed the development of a massive industrial-scale meat industry that made food more economical for the consumer. Rendering has been carried out for many centuries, primarily for soap and candle making. The earliest rendering was done in a kettle over an open fire. This type of rendering is still done on farms to make lard (pork fat) for food purposes. With the development of steam boilers, it was possible to jacket the kettle to make a higher grade product and to reduce the danger of fire. A further development came in the nineteenth century with the use of the steam "digester" which was simply a tank used as a pressure cooker in which live steam was injected into the material being rendered. This process was a wet rendering process called "tanking" and was used for both edible and inedible products, although the better grades of edible product
s were made using the open kettle process. After the material was "tanked", the free fat was run off, the remaining water ("tank water") was run into a separate vat, and the solids were removed and dried by both pressing and steam-drying in a jacketed vessel. The tank water was either run into a sewer or it was evaporated to make glue or protein concentrate to add to fertilizer. The solids were used to make fertilizer.
The pressure tank made possible the development of the Chicago meat industry in the USA, with its huge concentration in one geographic area, because it allowed the economic disposal of byproducts which would otherwise overwhelm the environment in that area. At first, small companies that sprang up near the packers did the rendering. Later the packers themselves took up the industry once they saw the potential. Gustavus Swift, Nelson Morris, and Lucius Darling were among the early pioneers of the U.S. rendering industry with their personal backing and/or direct participation in the developing rendering industry.
Technological innovations came rapidly as the 20th century advanced. Some of these were in the uses for rendered products and others were in the rendering methods themselves. In the 1920s, a batch dry rendering process was invented, in which the material was cooked in horizontal steam-jacketed cylinders that were similar to the fertilizer dryers of the day. Advantages claimed for the dry process were economy in energy use, a better protein yield, faster processing, and fewer obnoxious odours attending the process. Gradually, over the years, the wet "tanking" process was replaced with the dry process, so that by the end of...

Reflecting instrument for Wooden Mirror Frame
Gold Embrossed Frame ,
Reflecting instruments are those that use mirrors to enhance their ability to make measurements. In particular, the use of mirrors permits one to observe two objects simultaneously while measuring the angular distance between the objects. While they are used in many professions, they are primarily associated with celestial navigation, as the need to solve navigation problems, in particular the problem of the longitude, was the primary motivation in their development.

Objectives of the instruments
The purpose of reflecting instruments as to allow an observer to measure the altitude of a celestial object or measure the angular distance between two objects. The driving force behind the developments discussed here was the solution to the problem of finding one's longitude at sea. The solution to this problem was seen to require an accurate means of measuring angles and the accuracy was seen to rely on the observer's ability to measure this angle by simultaneously observing two objects at once.
The deficiency of prior instruments was well known. By requiring the observer to observe two objects with two divergent lines of sight increased the likelihood of an error. Those that considered the problem realized that the use of specula (mirrors in modern parlance) could permit two objects to be observed in a single view. What followed is a series of inventions and improvements that refined the instrument to the point that its accuracy exceeded that which was required for determining longitude. Any further improvements required a completely new technology.
Early reflecting instruments
Some of the early reflecting instruments were proposed by scientists such as Robert Hooke and Isaac Newton. These were little used or may not have been built or tested extensively. The van Breen instrument was the exception, in that it was used by the Dutch. However, it had little influence outside of the Netherlands.
Joost van Breen's reflecting cross-staff
Invented in 1660 by the Dutch Joost van Breen, the spiegelboog (mirror-bow) was a reflecting cross staff. This instrument appears to have been used for approximately 100 years, mainly in the Zeeland Chamber of the VOC (The Dutch East Indian Company).
Robert Hooke's Single-reflecting instrument
Representative drawing of Hooke's reflecting instrument. It does not accurately depict the fine details of the instrument but rather the basic functionality.
The index with telescope mounted is shown in black, the radius arm with the mirror (grey) attached in blue and the chord in green on white. The lines of sight are represented by the red dashed line.
Hooke's instrument was a single-reflecting instrument. It used a single mirror to reflect the image of an astronomical object to the observer's eye. This instrument was first described in 1666 and a working model was presented by Hooke at a meeting of the Royal Society some time later.
The device consisted of three primary components, an index arm, a radial arm and a graduated chord. The three were arranged in a triangle as in the image on the right. A telescopic sight was mounted on the index arm. At the point of rotation of the radial arm, a single mirror was mounted. This point of rotation allowed the angle between the index arm and the radial arm to be changed. The graduated chord was connected to the opposite end of the radial arm and the chord was permitted to rotate about the end. The chord was held against the distant end of the index arm and slid against it. The graduations on the chord were uniform and, by using it to measure the distance between the ends of the index arm and the radial arm, the angle between those arms could be determined. A table of chords was used to convert a measurement of distance to a measurement of angle. The use of the mirror resulted in the measured angle being twice the angle included by the index and the radius arm.
The mirror on the radial arm was small enough that the observer could see the reflection of an object in half the telescope's view while seeing straight ahead in the other half. This allowed the observer to see both objects at once. Aligning the two objects together in the telescopes view resulted in the angular distance between them to be represented on the graduated chord.
While Hooke's instrument was novel and attracted some attention at the time, there is no evidence that it was subjected to any tests at sea. The instrument was little used and did not have any significant effect on astronomy or navigation.
Halley's reflecting instrument
A drawing of Halley's reflecting instrument. The telescope is represented by the blue lines (as if cut open) and the mirrors and lenses are grey. The red dashed lines represent lines of sight.
In 1692, Edmond Halley presented the design of a reflecting instrument to the Royal Society.
This is an interesting instrument, combining the functionality of a radio latino with a double telescope. The telescope (AB in the image to the right), has an eyepiece at one end and a mirror (D) partway along its length with one objective lens at the far end (B). The mirror only obstructs half the field (either left or right) and permits the objective to be seen on the other. Reflected in the mirror is the image from the second objective lens (C). This permits the observer to see both images, one straight through and one reflected, simultaneously besides each other. It is essential that the focal lengths of the two objective lenses be the same and that the distances from the mirror to either lens be identical. If this condition is not met, the two images cannot be brought to a common focus.
The mirror is mounted on the staff (DF) of the radio latino portion of the instrument and rotates with it. The angle this side of the radio latino's rhombus makes to the telescope can be set by adjusting the rhombus' diagonal length. In order to facilitate this and allow for fine adjustment of the angle, a screw (EC) is mounted so as to allow the observer to change the distance between the two vertexes (E and C).
The observer sights the horizon with the direct lens' view and sights a celestial object in the mirror. Turning the screw to bring the two images directly adjacent sets the instrument. The angle is determined by taking the length of the screw between E and C and converting this to an angle in a table of chords.
Halley specified that the telescope tube be rectangular in cross section. This makes construction easy, but is not a requirement as other cross section shapes can be accommodated. The four sides of the radio latino portion (CD, DE, EF, FC) must be equal in length in order for the angle between the telescope and the objective lens side (AD-DC) to be precisely twice the angle between the telescope and the mirror (AD-DF) (or in other words - to enforce the angle of incidence being equal to the angle of reflection). Otherwise, instrument collimation will be compromised and the resulting measurements would be in error.
The celestial object's elevation angle could have been determined by reading from graduations on the staff at the slider, however, that's not how Halley designed the instrument. This may suggest that the overall design of the instrument was coincidentally like a radio latino and that Halley may not have been familiar with that...

Adicolor for adidas adicolor shoes
Sell Shoes To Jrodan Country ,
The Adicolor concept was launched by adidas in 1983 where trainers (sneakers) were sold with the tools that they could be customised by the purchaser.
The "adicolor" sneaker was an all white training shoe was specifically created for the adicolor concept. Presented in a wooden box, the adicolor low-top shoe comes with an all-white track jacket, a set of six colored acrylic paints, paintbrushes, and a wooden palette. The white leather can also be coated with sealant before or after painting.
In 2005 Adidas re-launched Adicolor as a replica of the original. Trainers include characters on them such as "Trimmy" "Betty Boop" "Mr Happy" "Tron" "Miss Piggy", "Kermit the Frog" and Muhammad Ali.
There are similarities between the 1983 version and the 2005 version such as the "ghilly" lacing system and a rubber outsole. Each pair comes with two types of laces, one containing Leonardo da Vinci's quote, "For all those colours which you wish to be beautiful, always start with a fresh white ground".
One of the Adicolor range was criticised by the Organization of Chinese Americans for presenting a stereotyped image of Asians.

DC Comics: Invasion! Origins & Definition
Main article: Invasion! (DC Comics)
Metahuman is a term coined by the fictitious alien Dominators (in DC Comics' Invasion! miniseries), and used to describe any human being with what are commonly described as "super powers". The prefix "meta-" simply means "beyond", describing persons and abilities beyond human limits.
The Metagene
The series provided a concept for why humans in the DC Universe would survive catastrophic events and develop "super powers." One of the Dominators discovered that some humans had a "biological variant" he called the meta-gene (also spelled "metagene"). This gene often lay dormant until a moment of extraordinary physiological stress activated it, and upon activation it would use the source of the biostress as a catalyst for "genetic change," resulting in metahuman abilities. The previous statement is a paraphrase of the explanation provided in the comic series. It should also be noted that DC does not use the "metagene concept" as a solid editorial rule, and few writers explicitly reference the metagene when explaining a character's origin.
DC also has characters born with superhuman abilities, suggesting the metagene can activate spontaneously and without any prior appearance in the ancestry. One well-known example involves Dinah Laurel Lance, the second Black Canary. Although her mother (Dinah Drake Lance, the original Black Canary) was a superhero, neither she nor her husband Larry Lance were born with any known metagenes. However, Dinah Laurel was born with a metagene, the famed ultrasonic scream known as the Canary Cry.
The prefix meta-, in this context, simply means "beyond"s in metastable, which is beyond regular stability and ready to collapse at the slightest disruption, or metamorphosis, which is the state of going beyond a single shape. In the DC comic mini-series Legends, the Dominators point out that the location of the Meta-gene is somewhere near the brain. (Of course, in reality every cell in the body would contain this gene.)
In the DC Comics universe, metahuman criminals are incarcerated in special metahuman prisons, like the one built on Alcatraz Island, which is outfitted not only with provisions to hold criminals whose powers are science and technology-based, but even mystical dampeners to hold villains (including Homo magi) whose powers are magic based. Prisoners in this facility are tagged with nanobyte tracers injected into their bloodstream that allow them to be located wherever they are.
It is possible for individuals skilled in science and biology to manipulate, dampen or modify the activities of the metagene: while the Dominators were able to devise a Gene Bomb able to accelerate the metagene activity to the point of cellular and physical instabilities, during the Final Crisis, an anti-metagene virus was spread as a last ditch weapon in the invaded Checkmate quarters. This metavirus has the opposite effects of the Gene Bomb, curbing and shutting down the metagene and stripping the metahumans of their powers for an unspecified amount of time.
White Martians
Main article: White Martian
According to the storyline in Justice League of America (#4) by Grant Morrison, and the storylines in Martian Manhunter (#25 - 27) by John Ostrander, and Son of Vulcan (#5), the genetic potential for a future metagene was discovered in ancient human DNA by the White Martian race. The White Martians performed experiments on these primitive humans, changing the metagene.
Due to their experimentations, they actually altered the destiny of the human race. Whereas before evolution would have eventually made mankind into a race of superhumans similar to the Daxamites and Kryptonians, now only a select few humans would be able to develop metahuman powers. As punishment for this, the group of renegades known as the Hyperclan was exiled to the Still Zone, a version of the Phantom Zone.
Metavirus
The White Martians also created a metavirus, a metagene that could be passed from host to host via touch. This metavirus was responsible for the empowerment of the very first Son of Vulcan. And from that time onwards the Sons of Vulcan passed the metavirus down in an unbroken line, sworn to hunt and kill White Martians.
Population
The terms "meta" and "metahuman" does not only refer to humans born with biological variants. Superman and Martian Manhunter (aliens) as well as Wonder Woman (a near-goddess) and Aquaman (an Atlantean) are referred to in many instances as "metahumans." It can refer to anyone with extranormal powers, no matter the origins and including those not born with such power. According to Countdown to Infinite Crisis, there are roughly 1.3 million metahumans on Earth, 99.5% of which are considered "nuisance-level" (such as kids who can bend spoons with their mind and the old lady "who keeps hitting at Powerball"). The other 0.5% are what Checkmate and the OMACs consider alpha and beta level threats. For example, Superman and Wonder Woman were categorized as alpha level, while Metamorpho was considered a beta.
Exo-gene
The 52 mini-series introduced a toxic mutagen called the Exo-gene (also referred to as the Exogene). It is a toxic gene therapy treatment created by Lexcorp for the Everyman Project which creates metahuman abilities in compatible non-metahumans. First appears in 52 #4, first announcement of the Everyman Project in 52 #8. The project was controversial, creating a lot of unstable heroes and gave Luthor an "off switch" for their powers, creating countless mid-flight deaths.
Homo magi
Main article: Homo Magi
DC also suggests that some humans have inherent ability to utilize magic, and these humans are part of a branch or offshoot of humanity referred to as the Homo magi, who have interbred with normal humans. As with aliens and mutants with superhuman powers, Homo magi are also often classed together as Metas by the general public of the DCU.
Usage
Marvel Comics
The word "metahuman" is most often attributed to DC Comics Universe, while Marvel superpowered beings are commonly referred to as mutants or mutates. However, both DC and Marvel have made use of the terms "metahuman" and "mutant" within their own universes. The first use of the term 'metahuman' in the Marvel universe was in the New Mutants Annual #3, written by Chris Claremont, released in 1987. In it, a Russian security officer describes the protagonists as "metahuman terrorists".[citation needed]
In Marvel Comics, metahuman can sometimes be used as a term used to describe an attribute of a character that possesses a high degree of superhuman durability. A character possessing metahuman level invulnerability can withstand virtually all puncture wounds,...

History
When STO took root in 1964, the outlook for the Maldives was grim to say the least. The population was a mere 100,000. The only communication with the outside world was the Morse code and the ham radio. The only airstrip was one put together by the British Royal Air force and inter-atoll transport was limited to trips on the traditional sailing dhoni.
The only resource available was fish, and consumers were at the mercy of importers. Even the most basic food items were expensive. The country had no banks development was slow with no local fund for major investments and no commercial industry.
The need for a central purchasing organization to raise living standards and encourage development was acute. The government responded with the establishment of the Athireegemaafannu Trading Agency (ATA) - the beginning of STO, and the catalyst of change in the Maldives.
ATA financed the purchase and import of essential items in bulk; sold them to the public at low mark-up prices and also purchased supplies for the government.
With proven success in contributing to national development, ATA expanded into the State Trading Organization (STO). The STO undertook all trading and commercial activity on behalf of the Maldivian government.
The nation was growing, and so were the nation's demands. Now the need was not just for staples like rice sugar and flow, but also for quality merchandise, improved construction material and for state-of-the-art consumer goods.
The winds of change were blowing across the nation and STO responded by looking beyond its traditional role of state trader. It began to take up alternative enterprises to earn foreign exchange and broaden the nation's revenue sources.
Building in a background of solid commercial success, STO has streamlined The Operation to where profit and viability are equally important as the need to ensure availability of essential commodities at affordable prices.
Now, STO has become the dynamic Organization demanded by a prosperous, rapidly developing country. The Maldivian economy is booming and STO, with diversified business, is a constant source of support.

Early years
Anastasia had familial ties to a number of Mafia organizations. He was father-in-law to Dominick Cataldo and Joseph Cataldo and Anthony Scotto who was President of the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA). Albert had one known son named Anthony Anastasio, named after his uncle born on December 21, 1928 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Born in Tropea, Calabria, Italy one of nine brothers (one brother, Anthony, also joined in a life of crime) Anastasia moved to New York City around 1919. He became active in Brooklyn's waterfront operations and rose to a position of authority in the longshoremen's union, the ILA. It was here that Anastasia first demonstrated his penchant for homicide at the slightest provocation, killing a fellow longshoreman in the early 1920s an offense which led to an 18-month sentence at Sing Sing Prison in Ossining, New York. However, he was released early, being granted a new trial which would never take place, as four important witnesses turned up missing a situation that proved permanent.
Early in his organized crime career, Anastasia served in a gang led by Giuseppe "Joe the Boss" Masseria. Anastasia was always a devoted follower of others, primarily Charles "Lucky" Luciano and Frank Costello. His devotion to Luciano knew no bounds. His paternal niece Louise Anastasia and her husband Joseph Cataldo, the brother of Dominick Cataldo had stood with Gambino crime family associate Salvatore Polisi and his wife Rose Marie Noto when Father Joseph Greenfelder baptized Salvatore's youngest son, Joseph Polisi at St. Elizabeth's Church in Ozone Park, New York.
Anastasia's rise to power
Loyalties during the Castellammarese War
In 1930, Luciano finalized his plans to take over the organized crime rackets in New York by destroying the two old-line Mafia factions headed by Masseria and Salvatore Maranzano. Luciano outlined his plot to Anastasia, who joined him and Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel in the plot. Anastasia assured Luciano that he would kill everyone for Luciano to reach the top. Anastasia knew that if Luciano ran the National Crime Syndicate, he would eventually get a "piece of the action." Anastasia therefore participated in the four-man death squad that gunned down Masseria in Nuova Villa Tammaro, a Coney Island restaurant, on 15 April 1931.
With the subsequent murder of Salvatore Maranzano, Luciano became the preeminent mobster in America. To avoid the power struggles and turf disputes that led to the Castellammarese War, Luciano established the National Crime Syndicate (more familiarly known as the "Commission") consisting of the major family bosses from around the country and the so-called "five families" of New York. The Commission was meant to serve as a deliberative body to solve disputes, carve up and distribute territories, and regulate lucrative illegal activities such as racketeering, gambling, and bootlegging (which would come to a close with the repeal of Prohibition in 1933).
Murder, Incorporated
To reward Anastasia's loyalty, Luciano placed him and Louis "Lepke" Buchalter, the nation's leading labor racketeer, in control of the Commission's enforcement arm, The Boys From Brooklyn (now known as Murder, Incorporated). Murder, Inc., was a group of mainly Jewish killers that operated out of the back room of Midnight Rose's, a candy store in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York. During its ten years of operation, it is estimated that Murder Inc. committed between 400 and 700 murders, many of which were never solved. Unlike Lepke and many other members of Murder, Inc., Anastasia was never prosecuted for any of these murders. It is doubted by some that he even was involved, since as the boss of a family, he had his own killers to use if needed. During this period, Anastasia's business card claimed that he was a "sales representative" for the Convertible Mattress Corporation in Brooklyn, New York.
Murder, Inc. maintained its power until the early 1940s. After his arrest, hit man Abe "Kid Twist" Reles made a deal granting him immunity from prosecution. Reles' testimony helped convict many of the group's hit men, including co-boss Buchalter. In retaliation, Anastasia promised a $100,000 reward for Reles' death. On 12 November 1941, on the eve of his testimony, Reles was killed by being thrown out a window from a room guarded by police at the Half Moon Hotel in Coney Island.
World War II
In 1936, US Attorney Thomas Dewey convicted Luciano on a pandering charge. Some observers felt that the charges were a frameup depending on the testimony of prostitutes and minor criminals. Supposedly Luciano was so high in the mob structure that he would never have dealt with these people as they claimed. Luciano received a 30- to 50-year sentence. During World War II, Anastasia reportedly originated the plan to win a pardon for Luciano by helping the war effort.
With America needing allies in Sicily to advance the invasion of Italy, and the desire of the Navy to dedicate its resources to the war, Anastasia orchestrated a deal to obtain lighter treatment for Luciano while he was in prison, and after the war, a parole in exchange for the Mafia protecting the waterfront and Luciano's assistance with his associates in Sicily.
Boss
Anastasia's violent ways were contained as long as Luciano and Costello were in control. In 1951, Costello was regarded as being the prime mover in Anastasia's rise to boss of the Mangano (later Gambino) crime family.
Through the years, boss Vincent Mangano had fumed at Anastasia's closeness to Luciano, Costello, and others and that they obtained Anastasia's services without first seeking Mangano's permission. This and other business disputes almost led to blows between Mangano and Anastasia, and it was only a matter of time before one or the other was ordered killed. In early 1951, Vincent Mangano went missing, and his brother Phil was murdered. After the deaths of the Mangano brothers, Anastasia claimed control of the family with Costello's active support.
Executing the executioner
Vito Genovese cunningly used Anastasia's brutal behavior against him in an effort to woo Anastasia's supporters away. Secretly over the next few years, Genovese won the cooperation of Anastasia's underboss, Carlo Gambino. However, Genovese dared not move against Anastasia and his real target, Costello, because of Meyer Lansky, an influential and rich mob associate. Lansky and Genovese were long-standing enemies, with disputes dating from the 1920s. Genovese could not make a power play without Lansky's support.
Anastasia's ambition soon drove Lansky to help Genovese. During the 1950s, Lansky was extremely successful in controlling casino gambling in Cuba, offering other mafia bosses...

The Viva HA (1963-1966) was Vauxhall's first serious step into the compact car market after World War 2. It was also the first new small car produced by Vauxhall since 1936. It had a 1057cc overhead valve engine. The 4 cylinder front mounted engine drove the rear wheels. It was comparable in size and mechanical specifications to the new Opel Kadett released a year earlier in continental Europe. Both the Viva and Kadett were sold alongside each other in many markets.
No four-door or estate versions of the HA Viva were available. A limited-production estate car conversion by Martin Walter Ltd. of Folkestone, based on the Bedford HA van, was known as the Bedford Beagle.
There was a van version of the Viva HA, which was known as the Bedford 8 or 10 cwt Van. This remained in production until 1983. Thousands of these vehicles were bought by the GPO (later British Telecom) and these bright yellow vans were a common sight.
These differed from the HA Viva saloon version in being taller. As the HA Van continued in production after the HA Viva had been replaced by the HB and HC models, the engine was uprated as were other items on it over the course of its production run.
The HA Van was eventually supplanted by the Chevanne. However, due to fleet orders, particularly from British Telecom and the Post Office, the HA van actually stayed in production using the later HC Viva's engine, gearbox and rear axle - until 1983.
The HA set new standards in its day for lightweight, easy to operate controls, a slick short gearchange, lightweight steering and clutch pedal, good all-round visibility and relatively nippy performance. It was one of the first cars to be actively marketed towards women, perhaps as a result of these perceived benefits for them.
The front crossmember (steering, suspension and engine mounting) assembly from the HA became a very popular item for DIY hot rod builders in the UK, due to its simple self-contained mechanics, similar to older designs such as those from the 1930s, and ability to accommodate much larger engines within its span. The assembly featured a double wishbone/vertical telescopic dampers suspension design in combination with a transverse leaf spring attached to the front cross member at its centre position and the entire unit could be removed and adapted to another vehicle as a complete unit. (For similar reasons the Jaguar IRS assembly was often used at the rear of these custom cars). The rear suspension making do with conventional longitudial semi elliptic leaf springs and lever arm dampers.
In Canada, the HA was sold as the Vauxhall Viva by Pontiac/Buick dealers and also as the Envoy Epic by Chevrolet/Oldsmobile dealers, and was second in sales to the Volkswagen Beetle amongst imported compact cars.
The Viva was initially launched in base and Deluxe versions, identifiable by their simple horizontal slatted metal grills. A more luxurious SL (for Super Luxury) variant appeared in late 1965. Engines were available in two states of tune: entry level models came with a power output of 44.2bhp (33.0kW), while the Viva 90, having a higher 9:1 compression ration, provided 53.7bhp (40.0kW). The availability of two engines and three trim options enabled Vauxhall to offer six Viva variants in some markets. 90 models came with front disc brakes, while SLs featured contrasting bodyside flashes, a criss-cross crome plated front grill, full wheel covers, three-element round tail lights and better interior trim.
The HA chalked up over 306,000 sales in its run, giving Vauxhall a successful return to the small car market, which they had abandoned following World War Two.
The HA, however, suffered severely from corrosion problems along with other Vauxhall models of the time and very few of this model remain - one of the main problem areas being the cappings along the top side edges of the luggage compartment badly corroding and allowing water to enter, consequently leading to severe structural corrosion in the luggage compartment floor area. However, as with a lot of other British cars of that period, many Vivas failed to survive long term not so much due to their poor corrosion protection but more due to local British councils putting salt on the roads to melt ice during the winter.

The Viva HB (1966-1970) was a larger car than the HA, featuring distinctive coke bottle styling, modelled after American General Motors (GM) models such as the Chevrolet Impala/Caprice of the time. It featured the same basic engine as the HA, but enlarged to 1159cc.
The HB used a completely different suspension design from the HA, having double-wishbone and coil springs with integrated telescopic dampers at the front, and trailing arms and coil springs at the rear. Lateral location and anti-squat of the rear axle was achieved using upper trailing arms mounted at approximately 45 fixed to lugs at the top of the differential. Both front and rear could also be fitted with optional anti-roll bars. The HB set new standards for handling in its class as a result of the adoption of this suspension design, where many of its contemporaries stuck with leaf springs and Macpherson struts.
This time, apart from the standard and 90 stages of tune, there was also, for a brief time, a Brabham SL/90 HB that was purported to have been developed with the aid of world racing champion Jack Brabham. Brabham models were marked out externally by distinctive black stripes at the front of the bonnet that curved round to the fenders and then headed back to end in a taper at the front doors. This model is almost impossible to find today. This model and the Viva GT are the two most sought after models made. The Brabham model differed from the standard Viva SL/90 in having a different cam-shaft, uprated suspension with anti-roll bars, different exhaust manifolds, and a unique twin-carb manifold, as well as differing interior trim.

Chemical oxygen demand for AMMONIUM CERIC SULPHATE
New Folding Bike (YQ-004) ,
In environmental chemistry, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) test is commonly used to indirectly measure the amount of organic compounds in water. Most applications of COD determine the amount of organic pollutants found in surface water (e.g. lakes and rivers), making COD a useful measure of water quality. It is expressed in milligrams per liter (mg/L), which indicates the mass of oxygen consumed per liter of solution. Older references may express the units as parts per million (ppm).

Overview
The basis for the COD test is that nearly all organic compounds can be fully oxidized to carbon dioxide with a strong oxidizing agent under acidic conditions. The amount of oxygen required to oxidize an organic compound to carbon dioxide, ammonia, and water is given by:
This expression does not include the oxygen demand caused by the oxidation of ammonia into nitrate. The process of ammonia being converted into nitrate is referred to as nitrification. The following is the correct equation for the oxidation of ammonia into nitrate.
The second equation should be applied after the first one to include oxidation due to nitrification if the oxygen demand from nitrification must be known. Dichromate does not oxidize ammonia into nitrate, so this nitrification can be safely ignored in the standard chemical oxygen demand test.
The International Organization for Standardization describes a standard method for measuring chemical oxygen demand in ISO 6060 .
History
For many years, the strong oxidizing agent potassium permanganate (KMnO4) was used for measuring chemical oxygen demand. Measurements were called oxygen consumed from permanganate, rather than the oxygen demand of organic substances. Potassium permanaganate's effectiveness at oxidizing organic compounds varied widely, and in many cases biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) measurements were often much greater than results from COD measurements. This indicated that potassium permanganate was not able to effectively oxidize all organic compounds in water, rendering it a relatively poor oxidizing agent for determining COD.
Since then, other oxidizing agents such as ceric sulfate, potassium iodate, and potassium dichromate have been used to determine COD. Of these, potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) has been shown to be the most effective: it is relatively cheap, easy to purify, and is able to nearly completely oxidize almost all organic compounds.
In these methods, a fixed volume with a known excess amount of the oxidant is added to a sample of the solution being analyzed. After a refluxing digestion step, the initial concentration of organic substances in the sample is calculated from a titrimetric or spectrophotometric determination of the oxidant still remaining in the sample.
Using potassium dichromate
Potassium dichromate is a strong oxidizing agent under acidic conditions. (Acidity is usually achieved by the addition of sulfuric acid.) The reaction of potassium dichromate with organic compounds is given by:
where d = 2n/3 + a/6 - b/3 - c/2. Most commonly, a 0.25 N solution of potassium dichromate is used for COD determination, although for samples with COD below 50 mg/L, a lower concentration of potassium dichromate is preferred.
In the process of oxidizing the organic substances found in the water sample, potassium dichromate is reduced (since in all redox reactions, one reagent is oxidized and the other is reduced), forming Cr3+. The amount of Cr3+ is determined after oxidization is complete, and is used as an indirect measure of the organic contents of the water sample.
Blanks
Because COD measures the oxygen demand of organic compounds in a sample of water, it is important that no outside organic material be accidentally added to the sample to be measured. To control for this, a so-called blank sample is required in the determination of COD (and BOD, for that matter). A blank sample is created by adding all reagents (e.g. acid and oxidizing agent) to a volume of distilled water. COD is measured for both the water and blank samples, and the two are compared. The oxygen demand in the blank sample is subtracted from the COD for the original sample to ensure a true measurement of organic matter.
Measurement of excess
For all organic matter to be completely oxidized, an excess amount of potassium dichromate (or any oxidizing agent) must be present. Once oxidation is complete, the amount of excess potassium dichromate must be measured to ensure that the amount of Cr3+ can be determined with accuracy. To do so, the excess potassium dichromate is titrated with ferrous ammonium sulfate (FAS) until all of the excess oxidizing agent has been reduced to Cr3+. Typically, the oxidation-reduction indicator Ferroin is added during this titration step as well. Once all the excess dichromate has been reduced, the Ferroin indicator changes from blue-green to reddish-brown. The amount of ferrous ammonium sulfate added is equivalent to the amount of excess potassium dichromate added to the original sample.
Preparation Ferroin Indicator reagent
A solution of 1.485 g 1,10-phenanthroline monohydrate is added to a solution of 695 mg FeSO47H2O in water, and the resulting red solution is diluted to 100 mL.
Calculations
The following formula is used to calculate COD:
where b is the volume of FAS used in the blank sample, s is the volume of FAS in the original sample, and n is the normality of FAS. If milliliters are used consistently for volume measurements, the result of the COD calculation is given in mg/L.
The COD can also be estimated from the concentration of oxidizable compound in the sample, based on its stoichiometric reaction with oxygen to yield CO2 (assume all C goes to CO2), H2O (assume all H goes to H2O), and NH3 (assume all N goes to NH3), using the following formula:
COD = (C/FW)(RMO)(32)
Where C = Concentration of oxidizable compound in the sample,
FW = Formula weight of the oxidizable compound in the sample,
RMO = Ratio of the # of moles of oxygen to # of moles of oxidizable compound in their reaction to CO2, water, and ammonia
For example, if a sample has 500 wppm of phenol:
C6H5OH + 7O2 ? 6CO2 + 3H2O
COD = (500/94)(7)(32) = 1191 wppm
Inorganic interference
Some samples of water contain high levels of oxidizable inorganic materials which may interfere with the determination of COD. Because of its high concentration in most wastewater, chloride is often the most serious source of interference. Its reaction with potassium dichromate follows the equation:
Prior to the addition of other reagents, mercuric sulfate can be added to the sample to eliminate chloride interference.
The following table lists a number of other inorganic substances that may cause interference. The table also lists chemicals that may be used to eliminate such interference, and the compounds formed when the inorganic molecule is eliminated.

History
19th century
In 1885, W. C. Bradley began working as a clerk for Bussey-Goldsmith, a cotton factoring firm. Within a few years, he and his brother-in-law Samuel A. Carter purchased the cotton factoring business, changing the name to Carter and Bradley. The company soon expanded by adding a wholesale grocery department and began to manufacture a high grade fertilizer for the farmers who grew cotton.
In 1895, Bradley bought his brother-in-law's share of the business, and changed the name of the company to the W. C. Bradley Co. Over the next five years Bradley bought Eagle and Phenix Mills and founded the Columbus Manufacturing Company, two of the largest textile mills in the South. He also built a large cotton warehouse, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and today houses the corporate and administrative offices of the W. C. Bradley Co., the W. C. Bradley Co. Museum, and the D. A. Turner Memorial Chapel.
20th century
In 1917, Bradley purchased five plantations located 45 miles (72 km) south of Columbus, along the Chattahoochee River. Today they form the base of the company's Farm Division with 4,000 acres (16 km2) of row crops including peanuts, soybeans, corn, and wheat, 30,000 acres (120 km2) of timber, and a modern scientific swine-handling facility producing over 10,000 hogs per year for market.
During the early 1920s, Bradley continued to diversify his holdings. He acquired the Hamburger Cotton Mills and renamed them Bradley Manufacturing Company. In 1925, the W. C. Bradley Co. acquired control of the Columbus Iron Works. The Iron Works, dating back to 1849, had manufactured cannons and cannon balls as well as gunboats for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, and in 1872 the world's first commercial ice machines. When Bradley took over ownership, the Iron Works began manufacturing circulating heaters and stoves as well as horse-drawn farm implements.
The textile mills were sold during the 1940s. Upon W. C. Bradley's death on July 26, 1947, his son-in-law D. A. Turner became Chairman of the Board.
In 1949, the Iron Works manufactured its first cast iron barbecue grill. Gas grills were added in the 1960s. In 1973, the Manufacturing Division moved from the Columbus Iron Works to a new modern plant in Bradley Industrial Park. This division became known as W. C. Bradley Enterprises in 1977, and is now known as Char-Broil.
D.A. Turner died on August 11, 1982, and his son, William B. Turner assumed the title of Chairman. William B. Turner had been actively managing the company since he became Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1973.
On August 4, 1987, William B. Turner stepped down as Chairman and turned the management of the company over to the fourth generation of the founder's family. This new W. C. Bradley Co. executive team included Stephen Turner Butler as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and William B. Turner, Jr. as President and Chief Operating officer.
Lamplight in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, was purchased and added to the W. C. Bradley Co. Home Leisure Group in 1998. Lamplight is a producer of indoor lamps and oil, scented indoor candles, and decorative outdoor natural flame products. These products are marketed under the Lamplight and Tiki brands.
21st century
Zebco, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma was acquired by the W. C. Bradley Co. in 2001. Zebco is a designer and marketer of branded fishing tackle in North America. The brands marketed by this division include Zebco, Rhino, Quantum, Lew, and Martin.
In 2005 it was announced that Char-Broil would transition all Char-Broil grill production from Georgia to China by the end of 2006. The Char-Broil division is still headquartered in Columbus.

Capsular contracture for breast enhancement capsules
Anti-aging Supplement ,
Grade IV capsular contracture in the right breast of a 29-year-old woman seven years after subglandular placement of 560cc silicone gel-filled breast implants
Capsular contracture is an abnormal response of the immune system to foreign materials. It is most discussed in the context of complications from breast implants and artificial joint prosthetics.
Capsules of tightly-woven collagen fibers normally form as an immune response around a foreign body (eg. breast implants, pacemakers, orthopedic joint prosthetics), tending to wall it off. Capsular contracture occurs when the capsule tightens and squeezes the implant. This contracture is a complication that can be very painful and distort the appearance of the implanted breast or limit the range of motion of an artificial joint. The exact cause of contracture is not known. However, some factors include bacterial contamination, silicone breast implant rupture or leakage, and hematoma. Capsular contracture may happen again after additional surgery.
Methods which have reduced capsular contracture include submuscular breast implant placement, using textured or polyurethane-coated implants, limiting handling of the implants and skin contact prior to insertion and irrigation with triple-antibiotic solutions.
Correction of capsular contracture may require surgical removal or release of the capsule, or removal and possible replacement of the implant itself. Closed capsulotomy (disrupting the capsule via external manipulation), a once common maneuver for treating hard capsules, has been discouraged as it can cause implant rupture. Nonsurgical methods of treating capsules include massage, external ultrasound, treatment with leukotriene pathway inhibitors (Accolate, Singulair), and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy.
Mentor, one of the two FDA-approved breast implant manufacturers, performed a study which documented patient's complications with the product. In an FDA meeting presentation in March 2000, they found that 43% of saline implant patients reported a complication within three years. Ten percent of those complaints were of severe capsular contracture.
There are four grades of breast capsular contracture - Baker grades I through IV. The Baker grading is as follows:
Grade I the breast is normally soft and looks natural
Grade II the breast is a little firm but looks normal
Grade III the breast is firm and looks abnormal
Grade IV the breast is hard, painful, and looks abnormal.

Tabi for Steel Toe Socks
Slim Camisole ,
EM1015 slim camisole with far infrared ray and negative ions
A pair of tabi socks.
Woman in early Showa-period clothing wearing tabi; note the red cloth thong (or flip-flop) between the big toe and other toes.
Tabi (?? ?) are traditional Japanese socks. Ankle high and with a separation between the big toe and other toes, they are worn by both men and women with zori, geta, and other traditional thonged footwear. Tabi are also essential with traditional clothingimono and other wafuku. The most common colour is white, and white tabi are worn in formal situations such as at tea ceremonies. Men sometimes wear blue or black tabi for travelling. Patterned and coloured tabi are also available and are worn most often by women, though they are gaining popularity among men as well.
Construction workers, farmers and gardeners, rickshaw-pullers, and other workmen often wear a type of tabi called jika-tabi (???? ,tabi that contact the ground?). Being made of heavier, tougher material and often having rubber soles, jika-tabi resemble boots and function as outer footwear rather than as socks. Like other tabi, jika-tabi are toe-divided so they can be worn with slip-on thonged footwear. Shojiro Ishibashi, the founder of major tire company Bridgestone Corporation, is credited with their innovation.
Though slowly being replaced by steel-toed rigid-sole construction shoes in some industries, many workers prefer them for the softness of their soles. This gives wearers tactile contact with the ground and also lets them use their feet more agilely than rigid-soled shoes allow: for instance, people who traverse girders on construction sites like to know what is under their feet, and craft practitioners such as carpenters and gardeners additionally use their feet as if they were an extra pair of hands, for example to hold objects in place.
In contrast to socks that, when pulled on, fit the foot snugly because of their elastic weave, tabi are sewn together from cloth cut to form. They are open at the back so they can be slipped on and have a row of fasteners along the opening so they can be closed.

Nowadays, tabi socksocks with a separation between the big toe and its neighbor to allow wear with thonged footwearre also available. This reflects the number of people who still prefer to wear zori and geta, especially during Japan's hot, humid summers.
A related item are toe socks, which have 5 separate compartments; these are called ?????? (5 toe socks).

Ostomachion
Ostomachion is a mathematical treatise attributed to Archimedes. This work has survived fragmentarily in an Arabic version and in a copy of the original ancient Greek text made in Byzantine times. The word Ostomachion has as its roots the Greek word ??????????, which means "bone-fight". Note that the manuscripts refer to the word as "Stomachion", an apparent corruption of the original Greek. Ausonius gives us the correct name "Ostomachion" ("quod Graeci ostomachion vocavere"). The Ostomachion which he describes - called in Latin also "loculus Archimedius" - was a puzzle similar to tangrams and was played perhaps by several persons with pieces made of bone. It is not known which is older, Archimedes' geometrical investigation of the figure, or the game.

Game
The game is a 14-piece dissection puzzle originally forming a square. The object of the game was to form different objects, animals, plants etc. by rearranging the pieces: an elephant, a tree, a barking dog, a ship, a sword, a tower etc. An online version of the play can be found in the Bibliotheca Augustana (instructions in Latin). A hands-on acrylic version in holding tray is available from Kadon Enterprises, Inc.
Mathematical problem
Archimedes demonstrates in the treatise that each of the pieces has an area that is an integer fraction of the total area of the square. In the Greek version of the treatise, he also investigates the sizes of the angles of the pieces to see which could go together to make a straight line. The implication is that he was attempting to show how many ways in which the pieces could be assembled to form a square, although there is not enough of the Greek text remaining to be sure. If this is the case, then Archimedes anticipated aspects of combinatorics. The goal of combinatorics is to determine how many ways a given problem can be solved.
The Greek text of the fragment can also be found in the Bibliotheca Augustana website.
This is an English translation of the text of the fragmentary Arabic manuscript (translated from Hermann Suter's German translation in: Archimedis opera omnia, vol. 2, p. 420 sqq., ed. J. L. Heiberg, Leipzig 1881, as published in the Bibliotheca Augustana website):
" We draw a [rectangular] parallelogram ABGD, we bisect BG in E and draw EZ perpendicular to BG, we draw the diagonals AG, BZ, and ZG, we also bisect BE in H, and draw HT perpendicular to BE, then we put the ruler at point H and - looking to point A - we draw HK, then bisect AL in M, and draw BM. So the A-E rectangle is divided into seven parts. Now we bisect DG in N, ZG in C, we draw EC and attaching the ruler to the points B and C we draw CO, furthermore CN. Thus the rectangle ZG is also divided in seven parts, but in another way than the first one. Therefore, the whole square has fourteen parts.
We now demonstrate that each of the fourteen parts is in rational relationship to the whole square.
Because ZG is the diagonal of the rectangle Z-G, the triangle DZG is half of this rectangle, that means 1/4 of the square. But the triangle GNC is 1/4 of triangle DZG, because, if we extend the line EC, it comes to point D, and that means triangle GDC has half area of the triangle DZG and is equal to the two triangles GNC and DNC taken together; that means triangle GNC is 1/16 of the square. If we presume that line OC is orientated to point B, as we have drawn it before, so the line NC is parallel to BG, which is the side of the square and of the triangle OBG, so we get the proportion
BG: NC = GO: NO.
But BG is four times NC, and in the same way GO four times NO; therefore is GN three times NO, and triangle GNC = 3 ONC. However, as we have shown, triangle GNC is 1/16 of the square, that means triangle ONC = 1/48 of the square. Furthermore, as triangle GDZ = 1/4 of the square, and therefore GNC = 1/16 of that triangle and NCO = 1/48 of that, it remains for the rectangle DOCZ = 1/6 of the square area. According to the proposition that line NC intersects point F, and GE is parallel to CF, we get the proportion
EC: CF = EQ: CQ = GQ: FQ.
Because EQ = 2 CQ and GQ = 2 FQ, triangle EQG is double to the two triangles GCQ and EFQ. It is clear, that triangle EGZ = 2 times triangle EFG, because ZE = 2 FE. Otherwise, the triangle EGZ = 1/4 of the square, that means triangle EFG = 1/8 of the square. This triangle is three times as big as each of the two triangles EFQ and GCQ, so each of these two triangles = 1/24 of the square A-G. And the triangle EGQ is double to each of the two triangles EFQ and GCQ, so it is = 1/12 of the square. Furthermore because ZF = EF, triangle ZFG = triangle EFG. If we now take away triangle GCQ (= triangle EFQ), it remains rectangle FQCZ (= triangle EGQ), therefore rectangle FQCZ = 1/12 of the square...(and so on)

In 1928 Ivan Stedeford joined the Company: he became Chief Executive in 1935 and Chairman in 1944. In 1946, the Company bought Swallow Coachbuilding Co. (1935) Ltd.
In 1946 The British Cycle Corporation subsidiary was formed which eventually composed of the following cycle companies: Phillips Cycles, Hercules Cycles (No connection with the German Hercules company), Armstrong, Rudge Whitworth, Norman Cycles and Sun Cycles.
The period 1958/9 saw the Aluminium War when the Company fought a fierce and ultimately successful battle to acquire British Aluminium.
In 1960 Raleigh Industries joined the group bringing with it BSA Cycles and J. B. Brookes.
In 1963 the Company bought Russell Hobbs, kettle manufacturers and Sir Ivan Stedeford GBE retired as Chairman and CEO and assumed the title of Life President.
The Alfred Herbert Company was purchased in 1982.
In 1987 Raleigh was sold to Derby International and Creda was sold to GEC.
Dowty Group was purchased in 1992 and in 1996 Accles & Pollock was sold to Hay Hall Group.
On 18 September 2000 Smiths Group announced its intention to merge with TI Group. The merger was completed on 4 December 2000. Smiths divested TI's automotive business shortly after the merger.
Operations
The three major divisions were John Crane International, a manufacturer of mechanical seals, Bundy Corporation, a tubing manufacturer and supplier to the refrigeration and automotive industries, and Dowty Group plc, an aerospace company. The Group also owned TI Creda, a manufacturer of domestic cookers. It also owned TI Chesterfield Cylinders, a manufacturer of pressurised gas cylinders for companies such as BOC and Air Products: the business was sold and the factory relocated from Chesterfield to Sheffield.

A tube of ChapStick
Lip balm or lip salve is a substance topically applied to the lips of the mouth to relieve chapped or dry lips, angular cheilitis or stomatitis, and cold sores. Lip gloss is similar in the fact that it is topically applied to the lips of the mouth, but generally has only cosmetic properties. The balm is usually manufactured from beeswax, petroleum jelly, menthol, camphor, scented oils, and various other ingredients. Some manufacturers also add vitamins, alum, salicylic acid, or aspirin. Some lip balms also contain octinoxate, avobenzone, or other sunscreens to minimize sun damage.
The primary purpose of lip balm is to provide an occlusive layer on the lip surface to seal moisture in lips and protect them from external exposure. Dry air, cold temperatures and wind all have a drying effect on skin by drawing moisture away from the body. Lips are particularly vulnerable because the skin is so thin, and thus they are often the first to present signs of dryness. Occlusive materials like waxes and petroleum jelly prevent moisture loss and maintain lip comfort while flavorants, colorants, sunscreens and various medicaments can provide additional, specific benefits.
Lip balm usually comes in tiny containers; either one in which a finger is used to apply it to the lips, or in 'stick' form (similar to lipstick) which is applied directly to the lips.

Last Bronx ~Tokyo Bangaichi~ (???????? -?????-), simply known as Last Bronx outside Japan, sometimes abbreviated to "LasBro" (????) is a 3D fighting game developed by Sega-AM3 on the Sega Model 2 mainboard. This is the first motion captured weapon fighting game released in Japanese game centers on June 1996, two years before System 12's Soulcalibur (July 1998). Home versions, shortened to Last Bronx, were produced for contemporary Sega game console and Windows systems. In Japan, the popular Last Bronx franchise was novelized and serialized into comics and radio drama. A VHS video documenting the motion capture process used for the game and introducing the characters was released in 1996. A year later, Takashi Shimizu directed the live-action movie (V-Cinema). On June 29, 2006, Sega released Tokyo Bangaichi on PlayStation 2 as a tenth anniversary celebration.

For the mobile telephone operating system, see Openmoko Linux.
Openmoko is a project which encompasses two related sub-projects, with the combined aim of creating a family of open source mobile phones. The project was founded by FIC.
The first sub-project is Openmoko Linux, a Linux-based operating system designed for mobile phones, built using free software.
The second sub-project is the development of hardware devices on which Openmoko Linux runs. The first device released was the Neo 1973, which was followed up by the Neo FreeRunner on 25 June 2008. Unlike most other mobile phone platforms, these phones are designed to provide end users with the ability to modify the operating system and software stack. Other Openmoko-supported phones are also available.

Openmoko Linux
Main article: Openmoko Linux
Openmoko Linux is the software subproject of Openmoko. It uses the Linux kernel, together with a graphical user environment built using the X.Org Server, GTK+ toolkit, and the Matchbox window manager. The 2008 April Software Update (ASU) has added support for the Qt toolkit and Enlightenment 17. The OpenEmbedded build framework and ipkg package system (currently being replaced by the newer opkg package system) are used to create and maintain software packages.
Native applications can be developed and compiled using various languages including C and C++.
Initial versions of the software are developed for the hardware developed by the Openmoko project (Neo 1973 and Neo FreeRunner devices from FIC). There has been moderate effort as yet in using the OS on other hardware platforms.
There are also some derivates of Openmoko Linux main distribution SHR and Fat and Dirty Openmoko(FDOM).
Openmoko hardware
the Neo 1973, the first smartphone using the Openmoko software
Neo FreeRunner
FIC is releasing hardware platforms that run the Openmoko software stack natively although, one of Openmoko's goals being openness, it does not discourage the use of other operating systems on the Openmoko hardware platform. Openmoko hardware aspires to the term open source hardware although in various areas the availability of cell phone components and law requirements prevent full conformance to this term.
As many other vendors, FIC notoriously failed to meet the publicly announced hardware release dates moving them further into the future multiple times.
The first supported phone, the Neo 1973 GTA01 (version: Bv4), was distributed exclusively through openmoko.com from July 2007 to February 2008.
The second revision of hardware based on the GTA01 design is the Dash Express, an automotive navigation system. The Dash Express has a faster CPU (Samsung 2440) and Wi-Fi ability.
The third hardware platform, the Neo FreeRunner codenamed GTA02 is an improved version of the Neo 1973. At least two further models are currently planned or developed in the GTA phone series.
Neo 1973
Main article: Neo 1973
The Neo 1973 (codenamed GTA01) phone was a "developers only" release. This phone supports the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz GSM frequency bands. It can run the Qtopia user interface in addition to the Openmoko developed GTK+ stack. Many Linux and unix programs used on desktop and server platforms, including utilities and games, have been successfully run on the phone. In addition to Linux, the NetBSD, FreeBSD and L4 kernels have been adapted by users to run on the platform or are under development. The bootloader used to start the operating system kernel is U-boot and allows the various maintenance tasks such as software updates to be performed.
This hardware platform can be emulated in software with a high level of compatibility using a version of Qemu included in the Openmoko software suite.
Neo FreeRunner
Main article: Neo FreeRunner
On 4 January 2008 Openmoko issued a press release naming the revision of the Neo 1973 the Neo FreeRunner (codenamed GTA02). The changes include a faster processor (clocked at 400MHz), 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, two accelerometers and 3D graphics acceleration. FreeRunner ships to selected developers as early test devices since Q1 2008.
On 9 April 2008 a community update announced the price for FreeRunner, 399 USD (with small changes due to taxes in different locations). The device's debug board will be sold separately at $99. It was released for the mass market on the 25th of June 2008.

Profile
According to Wild Bill's original file card, his real name is William S. Hardy, and his rank is that of army chief warrant officer CW-4. Wild Bill was born in Brady, Texas.
Wild Bill served as a combat infantryman and participated in LRRP operations during the Vietnam War. He reenlisted for Flight Warrant Officer School and has remained in service since. When he first joined the G.I. Joe Team, he was the pilot of the "Dragonfly" helicopter. He is a qualified expert in the M1191A auto pistol (but prefers single action .45 long colt revolvers) and the XM-16 attack rifle.
Wild Bill is the original helicopter pilot for the G.I.Joe team, and is also an expert tracker and can function on the ground as well as any expert infantry scout. He is able to adapt the hunting skills he learned as a boy whenever he's tracking the enemy, saying that sneaking up on a Cobra is easier than sneaking up on most critters.
Wild Bill is an amiable fellow and talks slowly. He fancies himself a country-western singer. He is totally honest in his personal dealings, but he is not yet beyond spinning a tall tale for the amusement of his comrades.
Toy history
The character first appeared as part of the 1983 line of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy line. His action figure was bundled with the Dragonfly helicopter toy. A second edition action figure was released in 1992 and his function is re-designated as an Air Cavalry Scout.
In 2002, a new figure was made utilizing the newer technology in articulation and detail. It was released as part of the G.I. Joe vs. Cobra series.
Fiction
Marvel Comics
In the Marvel comics G.I. Joe series, Wild Bill first appeared in issue #11. While never a major character, he appears prominently throughout the series. He often flies the Joes to their missions, either in the Dragonfly, the Tomahawk helicopter or the C-130 plane.
He has been shown to be a capable leader in a few circumstances such as in the fourth issue of the Special Missions spin-off where he and his team crashland in a Southeast Asian jungle and had to battle the Oktober Guard and river pirates. His team consists of Leatherneck, Roadblock and Lifeline. Wild Bill is badly injured and tensions arise because Leatherneck blames Lifeline, who is a pacifist. Wild Bill recovers enough to see and comment on Lifeline's 'battle', which ultimately wins them their freedom.
Another instance was in G.I. Joe issues #68-71. Crazylegs, Wild Bill and Maverick were forced into evacuating several Dreadnoks out of Rio Vista, the capital of war-torn Sierra Gordo. The Dreadnoks, Zarana, Thrasher and Monkeywrench, had taken several nearby civilians hostage. Eventually, the Joes, Dreadnoks and refugees all work together to get to safety.
Wild Bill is featured in G.I.Joe Special Missions #16. He teams up with Maverick and other Joe pilots in a recon mission over Cobra Island. He also shows a talent for Ping Pong.
Devil's Due
Wild Bill is featured in the first story arc of G.I.Joe: Frontlines, which presents the last adventure of the original squadron. He flies air support in an attack on Destro's castle, which is filled with many Cobra officers. He has to end up dealing with a Cobra Mamba all by himself, with a battered and leaking helicopter. Much of this incident is off-panel.
After the reformation of the Joe squadron, Wild Bill is one of the few Joes available, at the time, to assist Jinx. The mission is to infiltrate the organization of Japanese businessman Hayatu Toba, who is thought to be assembling a personal army of his own.
Animated series appearance
Wild Bill first appeared in the animated series in the A Real American Hero mini-series. The character's uniform had a different color scheme than in the comics and toy line. He was voiced by Frank Welker.

Hamam as-Sammara in late 1920s
Hamam al-Sammara (Arabic: ???? ???????, also spelled Hamaam as-Sumara; transliteration: "the Bath of the Samaritans" or "the Brown Bath") is the only active Turkish bath remaining in Gaza, located in the Zeitoun Quarter of the Old City. It is situated 3meters (10ft) below street level. It is currently owned by Salim Abdullah al-Wazeer.

History
Although rumored to date back to pre-Islamic times in Gaza, a plaque in the lobby of the bathhouse proclaims that Hamam al-Sammara was restored in 1320 by the Mamluk governor of the city Sanjar ibn Abdullah. It is the only Turkish bathhouse in Gaza, of the original five, that continues to function. According to Theodore E. Dowling writing in 1913, in 1584, a Samaritan community existed in Gaza and possessed a large synagogue and two bathhouses. "One of them still bears the name "the Bath of the Samaritans". One of the governors of Gaza who belonged to the Ridwan dynasty, desired to acquire the bathhouse, but the owner refused to sell it and the indignant governor had him hanged in front of the building. It is believed the Samaritans were expelled from the city before the turn of the 16th century.
The Wazeer family who owned Hamam as-Sammara decided to tear it down and construct a new building. However, they were faced with an ancient water heating system and traditional bathhouse that no longer functioned properly and which would be extremely costly to repair. Therefore, the Islamic University of Gaza and the United Nations Development Programme partly restored Hamam as-Sammara after it was nearly demolished due to rising costs of maintenance. The bathhouse still uses an old system of wood-fueled ovens and aqueducts, and for this reason, the Wazeer family has been collecting funds to renovate the aqueducts beneath the buildings marble slabs.
Structure and services
Hamam as-Sammara consists of several rooms with varied temperatures. Customers first leave their belongings with the clerk, then proceed to the steam room, after which they bathe in warm water. Sprinklers shower cool water on bathers to prevent overheating, and canisters are provided for ladling water. The final stage involves wading in the maghtas, a small pool filled with hot water, about a meter deep. After bathing, customers enter the room-temperature lounge. Massages are also available. Massages are undertaken by a mudalik (a professional "scrubber"), while the client soaks in the steam room.
Bathhouses are used as a folk remedy for rheumatism and infertility, and it is customary for mothers to bring their 40-day-old infants to Hamam as-Sammara for a blessing. It has a social importance, especially to women, as a place where community members come together to socialize. Services are open to both men and women, but at different times of the day.

A pseudonym, (from the Greek ?????????? /psev?donimon/), (often abbreviated pseud. when used in book publishing) is a fictitious alternative to a person's legal name. In some cases, pseudonyms are adopted because it is part of a cultural or organizational tradition, as in the case of devotional names used by members of some religious orders and "cadre names" used by Communist party leaders such as Trotsky and Stalin.
Pseudonyms are also used to hide an individual's identity, as with writers' pen names, graffiti artists, resistance fighters or terrorists' noms de guerre and computer hackers' handles. An example is of the well known fictional spy character James Bond concealing his identity by using the pseudonym "James St. John Smith" in the film A View To A Kill. Actors, musicians, and other performers sometimes use stage names, for example to mask their ethnic backgrounds. Stage names are also used to create a name which better matches their stage persona, as in the case of hip hop artists such as Ol' Dirty Bastard (who was known under at least six aliases); Black metal performers such as Nocturno Culto; and hardcore punk singers such as "Rat" of Discharge.
A collective name or collective pseudonym is one shared by two or more persons. This is sometimes used by the co-authors of a work, such as Ellery Queen.
The term is derived from the Greek ?????????? (pseud?nymon), literally "false name", from ?????? (pse?dos), "lie, falsehood" and ????? (oma), "name". A pseudonym is distinct from an allonym, which is the name of another actual person, assumed by someone in authorship of a work of art; such as when ghostwriting a book or play, or in parody, or when using a "front" name such as by screenwriters blacklisted in Hollywood in the 1950s and 1960s.

Cultural or organizational traditions
Monarchies
In many monarchies, the sovereign is allowed to choose a regnal name by which he or she will be known. This official name may differ from his or her first name and may not even be one of his or her given names at birth.
A sovereign may choose not to use his or her first name for many reasons. Some, such as George VI of the United Kingdom (born Albert Frederick Arthur George), may wish to make a connection between their reign and that of a previous sovereign (in his case, his father, George V). Others, such as Queen Victoria (born Alexandrina Victoria of Kent), may never have been known by their original first name. Other sovereigns might select a regnal name to emphasize the legitimacy of the succession or even to indicate a change in policy or religion.
In Japan, the Emperor's personal name is never used as a regnal name: he is referred to by the name of his regnal era, and after his death his name is officially changed to that of the era. It is a severe breach of etiquette in Japan to refer to the current Emperor's personal name either in speech or in writing unless absolutely required by law. This does not apply to those outside Japan, however, which explains why Japanese and non-Japanese use different names for the Emperor. For instance, Emperor Hirohito was known within Japan as Emperor Showa.
Religion
In the tradition of various Roman Catholic religious orders and congregations, members abandon their birthname to assume a new, often unrelated, devotional name, often referring to an admired saint. For women, e.g., in the Society of the Helpers of the Holy Souls, this reflects the mystical marriage as bride of Christ. It is also common for a newly elected pope to assume a papal name. Most popes choose a name commemmorating an admired saint (Benedict XVI, for example), a predecessor or predecessors (John Paul I), or even a family member (John XXIII). However, a pope could theoretically choose any name as his papal name, including his own.
In Eastern Orthodoxy, monks and nuns are given a saint's name by their bishop or abbot at the time of their tonsure as the new monk's (nun's) first act of monastic obedience. In addition, Orthodox monks and nuns never use their last names, except for legal reasons or for disambiguation.
In Buddhism a Dharma name is given during the traditional refuge ceremony. Practitioners of Wicca and other forms of Neopagan witchcraft often adopt a craft name or magical name.
In Islam new converts often accept an Islamic name. Examples include Ivan Agui, who became Abd...(and so on)

A house with Eternit paneling. The green colour was added during the production process.
Eternit is a brand of roofing and paneling material, commonly called fiber-cement board, made of fibres and cement.
Originally, the fibres were made of asbestos and the material was commonly used as siding in house building due to its low cost, fire-resistance, light weight, and other properties. After the discovery that asbestos is highly carcinogenic, its use is now prohibited in some countries. However, it is still sold "under the counter" in some places, especially in coastal areas where it withstands the climate much better than other materials. Today, Eternit and other manufacturers of fiber-cement board now produce asbestos-free panels.
Recommendations for the handing of Eternit differ from country to country.
Eternit was invented in the late 19th century by the Austrian Ludvig Hatschek. He mixed 90% cement and 10% asbestos with water and then ran it trough a cardboard machine. He named the product after the Latin word "aeternitas".
In South Africa
In South Africa the use of asbestos in the building industry became widespread when a factory was built by Everite at Brakenfell near Cape Town to manufacture asbestos-cement roofing and other fibre-cement products. The roof of the factory was manufactured with the newly installed machinery.
The use of asbestos in the manufacturing of fibre-cement products has now been discontinued by Everite and a new cement-based composite material Nutec has replaced the old product range. The use and handling of asbestos in South Africa is well-regulated and many asbestos-cement roofs and pipelines are completely safe to retain, provided that precautions are taken when drilling or cutting these materials.

The Royal Saxon tomb in Prittlewell is a high-status Anglo-Saxon tomb excavated at Prittlewell, north of Southend-on-Sea, in the English county of Essex.
In the autumn of 2003, in preparation for a road-widening scheme, an archaeological survey was carried out on a plot of land to the north-east of Priory Park in Prittlewell. The archaeologists were lucky in the placement of their trench and uncovered a set of Saxon remains.
Archaeologists from the Museum of London Archaeology Service excavated the site and discovered a 7th century chamber grave beneath a mound. They described it as "the most spectacular discovery of its kind made during the past 60 years".
Earlier excavations had indicated Saxon burials in the area however it was not expected to make such a find.

The tomb and artefacts
Excavation demonstrated the tomb to be a deep, formerly walled room full of objects of copper, gold, silver and iron. These finds included an Anglo-Saxon hanging bowl, decorated with inlaid escutcheons and a cruciform arrangement of applied strips, a folding stool, three stave-built tubs or buckets with iron bands, a sword and a lyre, the last one of the most complete found in Britain.
About 110 objects were lifted by conservators in two phases, over a period of ten days. The final lift was completed on 20 December 2003, with final defining of the chamber walls and backfilling continuing for three days after.
Theories about occupant
The quality and preservation of the Prittlewell Chamber Tomb has led to inevitable comparisons with the Sutton Hoo Ship Burial and associated graves. The artefacts found were of a quality that it is likely that Prittlewell was a tomb of one of the Kings of Essex and the discovery of golden foil crosses indicates that the inhabitant was an early Christian. Other objects, such as the Coptic bowl and flagon, appear to point the same way. This suggests that it was either Saebert (died 616 AD) or Sigeberht II the Good (murdered 653 AD), who are the two East Saxon Kings known to have converted to Christianity during this period. It is, however, also possible that the occupant is of some other wealthy and powerful individual whose identity has gone unrecorded .
Post-excavation events
Southend Borough Council faced criticism due to plans to continue with the already controversial road widening scheme - covering the site. The council has, however, promised to find a home for the finds, in order to keep them in the borough and it has been suggested that a new gallery will be created at Southend Museum for their display . The project was the winner of the Developer Funded Archaeology Award as part of the British Archaeological Awards for 2006. Since September 2005 the site has been occupied by a road protest camp against the road building scheme known locally as Camp Bling.

"Soft-paste porcelain" is a type of a ceramic material, but it lacks a more specific, universally agreed definition. Some writers have used the term for body formulations that combine clay and glass frit, mainly in the production of decorative figures and domestic wares in eighteenth century Europe, while others have used the term more widely to include other soft porcelains as well, such as bone china, Seger porcelain, vitreous porcelain, new Sres porcelain, Parian porcelain and soft feldspathic porcelain.

General
The history of soft-paste porcelain dates back to early attempts by European potters to replicate Chinese porcelain at a time when its composition was little understood and its constituent materials were not widely available in the West. The earliest formulations were mixtures of clay and ground-up glass or frit. Soapstone and lime were also known to have been included in some compositions. As these early formulations suffered from high pyroplastic deformation, or slumping in the kiln at raised temperatures, they were difficult and uneconomic to use in mass. Formulations were later developed based on kaolin (china clay), quartz, feldspars, nepheline syenite, and other feldspathic rocks. Soft-paste porcelain with these ingredients was technically superior to the traditional soft-paste and these formulations remain in production.
Characteristics
Soft-paste made with little clay is not very plastic and shaping it on the potter's wheel is difficult. Those pastes with more clay (now more commonly referred to as "bodies"), such as electrical porcelain, are extremely plastic and can be shaped by methods such as jolleying and turning. It was called "soft" because of its inability to hold rigid under high temperatures compared to hard-paste porcelain; the feldspathic formulations are however more resilent and experience less pyroplastic deformation. Soft-paste is fired at lower temperatures than hard-paste porcelain, typically around 1100oC. for the frit based compositions and 1200 to 1250oC for those using feldspars or nepheline syenites as the primary flux. The lower firing temperature gives artists and manufacturers some benefits, including a wider palette of colours for decoration and reduced fuel consumption. The body of soft-paste is more granular than hard-paste porcelain, less glass being formed in the firing proces
s.
History of its manufacture
Chinese porcelain, which arrived in Europe before the 14th century, was much admired and expensive to purchase. Attempts were made to imitate it from the 15th century onwards but its composition was little understood. Its translucency suggested that glass might be an ingredient, so many experiments combined clay with powdered glass (frit), including the porcelain made in Florence in the late 16th century under the patronage of the Medicis. In Venice there were experiments supposedly using opaque glass alone.
Hard-paste porcelain was successfully produced at Meissen in 1708 by Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus, though Johann Friedrich B?ttger who continued his work has often been credited with the invention. As the recipe was kept secret, experiments continued elsewhere, mixing glass materials (fused and ground into a frit) with clay or other substances to give whiteness and a degree of plasticity.
Experiments at Rouen produced the earliest soft-paste in France, when a 1673 patent was granted to Louis Poterat, but it seems that not much was made. An application for the renewal of the patent in 1694 stated, "the secret was very little used, the petitioners devoting themselves rather to faience-making". Rouen porcelain, which is blue painted, is rare and difficult to identify.
The first important French porcelain was made at the St.Cloud factory, which was an established maker of faience. In 1702, letters-patent were granted to the family of Pierre Chicaneau, who were said to have improved upon the process discovered by him, and since 1693 to have made porcelain as "perfect as the Chinese". The typical blue-painted Saint-Cloud porcelain, says Honey, "is one of the most distinct and attractive of porcelains, and not the least part of its charm lies in the quality of the material itself. It is rarely of a pure white, but the warm yellowish or ivory tone of the best wares of the period is sympathetic and by no means a shortcoming; and while actually very soft and glassy, it has a firm texture unlike any other. The glaze often shows a fine satin-like pitting of the surface that helps to distinguish it from the brilliant shiny glaze of...(and so on)

Chevrolet Lumina Z34 for Louvered Interior Doors
I want to introduct something about Spray Booth With Clean Room.
Spray booth - Large with clean roo
Chevrolet Lumina Z34.
The Chevrolet Lumina Z34 is the more potent sibling to the Lumina. In production from 1991-1994, this replaced the Monte Carlo to become the company's official car of NASCAR.
The Z34 had a Dual Twin cam V6, which produced 210hp (157kW) with 215lbt (292N) of torque. It had a 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds. The Z34 came standard with a sports tuned suspension as well as a handling package. The physical characteristics include a standard spoiler, dual exhaust, factory-installed body kit, sport bucket seats and hood louvers. The Z34 production was halted in 1994 when the Monte Carlo came back the year following.
The Z34 was not a consistently problematic car, but it did have its faults. The doors were said to be much too heavy and large, which could cause future sagging. The engine is extremely cramped, making the vehicle rather expensive to be serviced. The door handles are prone to breaking because of their uncommon vertical orientation, and the dashboard often peels.

Origin of the Z34
In 1989 Chevrolet replaced the popular Celebrity and Monte Carlo with the Lumina, a front-wheel drive car using the GM-10 or W-Body platform. This mid-sized sedan was manufactured to follow in the Monte Carlo's footsteps of gaining the most NASCAR victories in history. Vast improvements in aerodynamics and body design helped support confidence when the Lumina was driven to victory a majority of the Winston Cup Circuit. Much of this sleek NASCAR design was translated into the Lumina Z34 when it hit the consumer market in late 1990. The Z34 put aggressive styling, a tame lion's exhaust snarl, and precisely tuned handling powered by the first American made dual overhead cam V-6 in the hands of consumers. While this car has the power and agility to match a Ford Mustang, it still seats five comfortably and has enough trunk space for a day of shopping. Overall, the Z34's upgrades in the body, interior, engine, and other areas add a performance punch to the standard Lumina.
Exterior of the Z34
The Z34 spices up the exterior of the Lumina with a collage of ground effects although paint colors are limited to white, red, black, gray, and light blue. The front fascia includes a low profile airfoil before the radiator and a closed grill with slotted turn signal openings. Ground skirts that run along the side of the car give the appearance of a lower ride. Louvered slots in the hood pull some heat out the engine compartment. The rear end of the car is enhanced with a wing and a bumper accenting the dual exhaust outlets. The Z34 nameplate is labeled proudly along the stripe in the manner of the Z26 and Z24.
Interior of the Z34
The interior of the Z34 has subtle changes compared to the Lumina. Both have common complaints: a tiny glove box, small instruments, overly plump seats, no cup holder, and climate control buttons that require a stretch to use. Some critics are also disappointed with the heavy doors, the high mounted third brake light, and the difficulty in getting in the back seat. On the favorable side, one of the best aspects of he Lumina's interior is its leg and headroom for he driver and passenger. The Z34's driver seat has three adjustments, one to slide back and forth, one for back adjustment, and the third tilts the entire seat. The cloth fabric is Scotchgard protected to avoid annoying stains. The Z34 also offered an optional Bose stereo system. All factory Delco speakers were replaced by Bose with door speakers being installed rather than dash speakers. These are all driven by a Bose amplifier, which is tucked away in the trunk lid.
Engine of the Z34
The Twin Dual Cam V-6 is the most respectable upgrade in the Z34. GM's engineers used the same block as the 2.8-3.1 60 degree V-6 for this four cam achievement. They did this to get the performance of Japanese four cam engines while keeping prices reasonable. The TDC engine incorporates racing engine technology with its valve configuration to attain a 7000 rpm redline. Aluminum heads in a pent-roof design and valve clearance notches in the pistons also uphold the high-rever's capacity. To keep manufacturing new parts to a minimum, the TDC shares the same stroke (84 mm) as the 3.1-3.4's but contrary to popular belief it does not share the same stroke with the Chevy 2.8l, the 2.8 has a 2.99" stroke whereas the other 60 degree v6's (3.1's & 3.4's) have a stroke of 3.31". The connecting rods and crankshaft are shared although the metallurgy has been altered to handle the additional horsepower of the 3.4L engine. Cylinder walls were thickened and bearings were reinforced and p
olished to handle the increased load. Improvements have also been made in the cooling system, ignition, and oiling system to...(and so on)

Firesleeve for Braided Rubber Hose
I want to introduct something about L-Carnitine Capsule.
L-Carnitine is an amino acid that plays a crucial role in fat and carbohydrate metabolism and is required for the proper functioning of heart and muscle. L-Carnitine can improve vitality, help prevent heart problems, and may help slow down the aging process. Due to its health benefits, L-Carnitine is recommended for vegetarians, expectant mothers, small children, athletes, smokers, people who have high stress levels, those suffering from heart disease or diabetes, and the elderly. L-Carnitine largely increases the rate at which fat is burned which helps to reduce fat and build up lean muscle mass. L-Carnitine supplementation can be beneficial in training, competition, and recovery from strenuous exercise as well as in regenerative athletes.
Firesleeve is a common term for a Silicone coated fiberglass sleeve, generally used in industrial or aerospace applications.
Fiberglass acts as an insulator or barrier for constant temperatures up to 540F degrees. Silicone is generally able to withstand temperatures up to about 260C degrees. Silicone, however, has the added benefit of being able to withstand and repel much higher temperatures for short durations, including liquid molten metals.
Firesleeve is used as a protective sleeve on industrial hoses, hydraulic hoses, cables, wires, etc.
Firesleeve generally refers to two variations: An aerospace version is made with a braided fiberglass substrate and is commonly used in the aerospace industry. Its construction enables qualified hose assemblies to meet the SAE standards which have been established relative to the protection which this product provides.
An industrial version, constructed of a knitted fiberglass substrate is also available. Because it is less expensive it is more commonly used in hot industrial applications where this type of protection is needed. The industrial version will not meet the SAE standards.
Manufacturers of this product include Davlyn Manufacturing Co., Inc. in the U.S.A. and shipping worldwide (http://www.davlyn.com), and ADL Insulflex, Inc. in Canada and shipping worldwide (http://www.adlinsulflex.com/firesleeve).
AB Technology Group (http://www.firesleeveandtape.com) is a global distributor of firesleeve products along with other high-temperature protection materials based on firesleeve; such as fire-blankets and infrared heat reflective firesleeve (http://www.firesleeveandtape.com/aluminized-radiant-heat-reflective-fiberglass-sleeve.html), and also manufactures specialized firesleeve protective covers from Davlyn's Silco Sleeve firesleeve which include a hook and loop or snap closure for use as electric arc furnace cable covers.
Fiberglass sleeve -- without the Silicone rubber coating -- has a higher continuous temperature rating, up to 1000F or 540C and is available as a knitted or braided sleeve for protection of hoses and cables where molten splash protection or weld splatter protection is not required (http://www.firesleeveandtape.com/high-temperature-heat-resistant-thermal-insulating-fiberglass.html).

Color of Night is a 1994 erotic mystery thriller film starring Bruce Willis and Jane March, made by Cinergi Pictures and released in the United States by Hollywood Pictures. It is one of two well-known works by director Richard Rush, the other being The Stunt Man. As a measure of the difference between the two, The Stunt Man had three Academy Award nominations, though this film also received a 1994 Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Picture. To its credit, the film also won a Golden Globe nomination in the category Best Original Song Motion Picture for its theme song "The Color of the Night", performed by Lauren Christy.
Since its release in home video market it has gained a status as a cult film, and it did very well in the home video market, becoming a top-five renter.
Maxim magazine also named this film's sex scenes as the Hottest Movie Sex Scenes ever.

Plot summary
The plot of the film is clearly influenced by the movies of Alfred Hitchcock, particularly Vertigo.
Bill Capa (Bruce Willis) is a New York City psychoanalyst who becomes rather disturbed himself when a patient holds him at gunpoint before committing suicide by jumping from his office window high in a building. The sight of the bloody body of his patient clad in a bright green dress, causes Capa to suffer from stress-induced color blindness. The title refers to the fact that he sees only shades of gray.
To restart his life, Capa travels to Los Angeles, California, to stay with a friend, fellow therapist Dr. Bob Moore. When Moore is murdered, Capa is plunged into the mystery of his friend's death. Moore would gather his patients every Monday for a group discussion of their problems, and police detective Lt. Hector Martinez suspects one of them of being the killer.
Capa also begins an affair with Rose (Jane March), a mysterious girl who comes and goes without warning into his life. As their relationships progress, Capa learns of his patients' past and obsessions:
Clark (Brad Dourif) suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and insists on cleanliness and counting things. He also beat up his wife.
Sondra Dorio (Lesley Ann Warren) has had many affairs and is a kleptomaniac; she stabbed her father with a knife and fork and one of her husbands died of unnatural causes.
Buck (Lance Henriksen) is an unsociable ex-cop; the murder of his wife and daughter is unsolved.
Casey Heinz (Kevin J. O'Connor), the arrogant son of a wealthy man, paints sado-masochist paintings, and burned down his father's house.
Richie (also played by Jane March) is a 16-year-old with a stutter and a gender identity problem. He wants to be a woman, and has a history of drug use.
Then, one of the patients turns up dead, and Capa himself is the subject of several attempts on his life. He soon discovers that all his patients have been romantically involved with Rose and this leads to a twist ending...
Controversy
Color of Night received a certain degree of notoriety for the sex scenes between Willis and Jane March, which were somewhat graphic for a mainstream movie: the many nude scenes made by the two main actors included a full-frontal by Willis.
This was the second film in which March appeared in explicit sex scenes (the first being The Lover).
Cutting
The film briefly received an NC-17 rating before Rush edited it sufficiently to receive an R. The R-rated "Director's Cut" version was released in US on DVD in 1999; however, this version was not totally uncut.
According to Kevin S. Sandler's book The Naked Truth: Why Hollywood Doesn't Make X-Rated Movies, Disney (owners of Hollywood Pictures) had a policy not to release any unrated movies on home video market, so they didn't release the totally uncut version of Color of Night on DVD.
The European version of Color of Night has very few extra scenes, but it also leaves out some scenes that are on the US DVD.
A good example is when Willis and March first make love: in the version shown on British television, Rose takes off her red dress before she and Capa drop into the pool; in the DVD the dress does not come off until they are in the pool.
Again, in the version shown on British TV, the police are shown in Casey's loft after Capa has found his body. The examiner gives Capa and Martinez a preliminary report, doubting Capa's remarks that a woman...(and so on)

These conventions have been defined by the acceptance of the industry and media as a whole to the assumption that the public will only purchase machines that bear more than a passing resemblance to competition machines of whatever kind. In some large OEM motorcycle manufacturers, the term designer can also be applied to the project leader or chief engineer charged with laying down the principle architecture of the vehicle. In recent years it has also become associated with custom or "chopper" builder culture.

Motivations
In general, motorcycle design appears to follows standard industrial doctrine of designing products that fulfill market demands, satisfy engineering and economic requirements to produce safe and profitable vehicles. But in reality these demands are engineered by a number of vested interests starting with the sporting promoters, the motorcycling press and ending with the motorcycle manufacturers themselves.
The market has been educated by the media and the industry to think that the present state of design development comes from a gradual development of the motorcycle from its original concept as a motorised bicycle, discarding on the way any developments that prove to be inherently unsafe or unsaleable. But this is totally untrue. In the 1950s interest in various forms of streamlining developed and by 1957 all the leading manufacturers that competed in road racing were using a form of full streamlining that covered the front wheel. Some were developing new and radical designs that would enclose the rider. But all this progress was brought to a halt by the governing body of motorcycle sport (the FIM) and other commercial interests. These were mainly those who thought the sport might lose money and those who were reluctant to spend on wind tunnel research and new designs. It was claimed that many of the new designs were unsafe but in reality many of the most radical designs were
in fact safer, even in those early days. Nevertheless a ban was imposed on any design that might enclose the wheels or the rider.
Thus enforcing on motorcycle design the exposed vulnerability of the rider and machine that had already cost so many lives. It is obvious that having to design all the brake, suspension and steering components to aesthetically look good before they can be used will retard progress. Then there is the protection afforded by a smooth, rounded streamline shell to the rider and pedestrian in a collision. When the emphasis on safety and crash testing for cars arrived, the design of motorcycles was and still is in a straitjacket which allows the manufacturers to conveniently abrogate their responsibility for any effort to protect the rider. The possibility of fitting new safety devices like those that are now used in cars was there then and still is especially in designs such as the NSU flying hammock. Due to the highly emotive and often symbolic nature of motorcycles as social and cultural instruments, the practice of designing one has now become just as much an exercise in intuiti
ve human psychology as rendering the relevant observations into metal and plastic.
Professional Design
Professional motorcycle designers almost always hold degrees in industrial design, industrial design engineering or similar, and have training in styling, modeling, as well as knowledge in aspects of technology associated with single track vehicles. Although no degree as a specialisation exists per se, the majority of candidates graduate through colleges and universities with established transportation design courses, and are trained as automotive designers.
Most OEM motorcycle manufacturers, such as Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW, Ducati, Piaggio and others have in-house design studios dedicated to this purpose, while others such as Yamaha and KTM depend on specialised independent design consultancies.
Methodology
Design and Engineering Relationships
Due to the high importance of mechanical components or even exposed engines to motorcycle styling, almost always designers will have a greater sensitivity and awareness to engineering than will typical car designers. In OEM situations, large teams of professional engineers and specialists will collaborate on each...(and so on)

Plot
Stan and Ollie are ordered to wash the dishes by Ollie's wife but Stan dries them and puts them back in the bowl. Ollie then tells him to put them somewhere dry and he places them on a gas ring where they heat up, so that when Ollie picks them up he drops them and they all smash. James Finlayson then calls to collect payment for some furniture. Stan, Ollie and Mrs Hardy embark on a lengthy "the money that you gave to him, to give to me to pay him" dialogue routine. At Stan's suggestion Ollie then withdraws the couple's savings from the bank to buy furniture and inadvertently pays virtually the whole amount at an auction for a grandfather clock which is soon crushed under a passing truck. Awaiting the wrath of Mrs Hardy back at home he tells Stan that "here is another nice kettle of fish you've pickled me in".
Mrs Hardy then unintentionally causes serious injuries to Ollie when she hits him over the head with a frying pan, requiring him to be rushed to hospital for a blood transfusion. The doctor conscripts Stan to be the unwilling blood donor ("what do you think I am, a blood worm?"). During the transfusion, too much blood is pumped out of Stan and into Ollie, requiring some of the blood inside Ollie to be pumped into Stan. But too much blood gets pumped back into Stan, requiring another reversal, and so forth ... until the transfusion machine explodes. When Laurel and Hardy walk out of the hospital, they appear to have turned into each other: Ollie with his moustache shaved off and wearing Stan's too-small clothes, while Stan is in Ollie's too-large clothes and wearing a moustache which is supposed to resemble Ollie's but (perhaps unintentionally) looks more like Adolf Hitler's. The two comedians end up imitating each other, with Ollie performing Stan's famous befuddled "head scr
atch" and Stan admonishing Ollie that "here's another nice mess you've gotten me in to".

The Grey Fairy Book
The Magician's Horse is a Greek fairy tale. Andrew Lang included it in The Grey Fairy Book.
Synopsis
A king's three sons went hunting, and the youngest got lost. He came to a great hall and ate there. Then he found an old man, who asked him who he was. He told how he had become lost and offered to enter his service. The old man set him to keep the stove lit, to fetch the firewood from the forest, and to take care of the black horse in the stables.
The man was a magician, and the fire was the source of his power, though he did not tell the prince.
One day, the prince nearly let the fire go out, and the old man stormed in. Frightened, the prince threw another log on it and nursed it back.
The horse told him to saddle and bridle it, to use an ointment that made his hair like gold, and to pile all the wood he could on the fire. This set the hall on fire. The horse then told him to take looking-glass, a brush and a riding-whip, and ride off on him. The magician chased on a roan horse, but the prince threw down the looking glass, the horse cut its feet on it, and the magician had to go back to put new shoes on him, but then he chased the prince again. The horse had the prince throw the brush on the ground. This produced a thick wood, and the magician had to go back and get an axe to cut through it, but then he chased the prince again. The prince threw down the whip; it became a river, and when the magician tried to cross it, it put out his magical fire and killed him.
The horse told the prince to strike the ground with a willow wand. A door opened, making a hall in which the horse stayed, but he sent the prince through the fields to take service with a king. He wore a scarf to hide his golden hair. He worked as a gardener and every day brought half his food to the horse.
One day, the horse told him that the king's three daughters would chose their husbands: a great company of lords would gather, and they would throw their diamond apples into the air. The man at whose feet the apple stopped would be the bridegroom. He should be in the garden, nearby, and the youngest's would roll to him; he should take it up at once.
He did. The scarf slipped a little, the princess saw his hair and fell in love at once, and the king, though reluctant, let them marry.
Soon after, the king had to go to war. He gave the prince a broken-down nag. The prince went to the black horse; it gave him arms and armor, and he rode it to battle and won the battle, but fled before he could be clearly seen. Twice more, he went to war, but the third time, he was wounded, and the king bound his wound with his own handkerchief. The princess his wife recognized it and revealed it to her father. There was great rejoicing, and the king gave him half his kingdom.
Variants on motifs
This particular type of tale is well known, being particularly found in Germany, Scandanvia, and the Baltic, but also throughout Europe, and appears in Asia down to Indonesia and also in Africa. Other tales like this include Little Johnny Sheep-Dung and The Gifts of the Magician. A less common variant, found only in Europe, opens with the hero rescuing a wild man, as in Iron John, Guerrino and the Savage Man, and The Hairy Man.
The motifs are found in many more tales. While getting a horse is a frequent quest object, it is usually the side effect of needing it for something else, as in The Death of Koschei the Deathless or The Nine Peahens and the Golden Apples. It is generally a gift of the donor, as in F?t-Frumos with the Golden Hair.
When the hero is working for the villain, the usual aid comes from a woman who is the heroine -- The Battle of the Birds, The White Dove, or The Master Maid -- and therefore does not end as this one does, with an additional adventure to gain a bride, as in The Hairy Man.
Compare Prince Ring.

Product description
The McRib consists of a boneless pork patty, barbecue sauce, onions and pickles served on a 6inch (15.2cm) roll. The patty is precooked, frozen and later reheated. When first introduced, packets of a special McRib barbecue sauce called "Blazing Hot Sauce" were available with the sandwich. This sauce was much hotter than the barbecue sauce on the prepared sandwich and was only available for a short time. When the McRib was brought back as a "specialty" sandwich, the sesame seed roll was often replaced with a standard hamburger bun; this was sometimes called the McRib Jr[citation needed].
History
The sandwich test-marketed very well in Nebraska and other Midwestern markets and was added to the restaurant's permanent menu throughout the United States in 1981. Sales were mediocre,[citation needed] and it was removed after several years, only to be brought back as a limited time offering.
Officials at McDonald's, in a 1985 stockholder meeting,[citation needed] mentioned that The McRib was pulled because the McRib could not sustain international sales, as there were many countries in which pork is not regularly eaten. Germany was cited as an example, but the U.S. and certain Asia Pacific countries were not. The strategy announced at that time would be that the McRib would be brought back periodically as a "specialty" sandwich since it definitely increased sales during a promotional period before receding.
In the summer of 1994, McDonald's brought back the McRib as a tie-in with the theatrical release of "The Flintstones", comparing the appearance of the McRib with the rack of ribs that topples the Flintmobile in both the animated and live action productions. McDonald's (which was featured in the film as "RocDonald's") supported the return with McRib packaging featuring the Flintstone characters and a television commercial featuring Rosie O'Donnell in her role as Betty.
On November 1, 2005, McDonald's put out a press release stating that the McRib would be permanently removed from the menu following a "McRib Farewell Tour." This appears to have been a deceptive kickoff to a viral/stealth marketing campaign;[citation needed] mcrib.com, a site registered to McDonald's, featured a petition to "Save the McRib," which was facetiously sponsored by the "Boneless Pig Farmers Association of America." So in a two-angled campaign, McDonald's was simultaneously conducting a McRib farewell tour and sponsoring a petition to "Save the McRib" to create buzz. On October 16, 2006, the "McRib Farewell Tour II" site appeared, confirming the campaign was a marketing ploy. The petition to "Save the McRib" still existed as well as the "BPFAA" site.
McDonald's brought the McRib back in the United States once again in October 2007, beginning the third farewell tour. It was reintroduced for a fourth time in late October 2008, across the United States, Hong Kong and Japan, with a promotional website featuring music sponsored by a "McRib DJ".
The McRib has remained on sale as a regular item in Germany.
In 2008, The McRib was brought back yet again in December. McRib.com continues its marketing campaign.

Corrugated galvanised iron (colloquially corrugated iron, commonly abbreviated CGI) is a building material composed of sheets of hot-dip galvanised mild steel, cold-rolled to produce a linear corrugated pattern in them. The corrugations increase the bending strength of the sheet in the direction parallel to the corrugations, but not across them. Normally each sheet is manufactured longest in its strong direction.
CGI is lightweight and easily transported. It was and still is widely used especially in rural and military buildings such as sheds and water tanks. Its unique properties were used in the development of countries like Australia from the 1840s, and it is still helping developing countries today.

History
Early manual corrugated iron roller. On display at Kapunda museum, South Australia
CGI was invented in the 1820s in Britain by Henry Palmer, architect and engineer to the London Dock Company. It was originally made (as the name suggests) from wrought iron. It proved to be light, strong, corrosion-resistant, and easily transported, and particularly lent itself to prefabricated structures and improvisation by semi-skilled workers. It soon became a common construction material in rural areas in the United States, Chile and Australia and later India, and in Australia and Chile also became (and remains) the most common roofing material and is even used in urban areas (in which application it is usually painted) but not as commonly as in rural areas. For roofing purposes, the sheets are laid somewhat like tiles, with a lateral overlap of two or three corrugations, and a vertical overlap of about 150 mm, to provide for waterproofing. CGI is also a common construction material for industrial buildings throughout the world.
Wrought iron CGI was gradually replaced by mild steel from around the 1890s, and iron CGI is no longer obtainable - however, the common name has not been changed. Galvanized sheets with simple corrugations are also being gradually displaced by 55%Al-Zn coated steel (GALVALUME steel) or coil-painted sheets with complex profiles. However CGI remains common.
Corrugation today
Today the corrugation process is carried out using the process of "Roll Forming". This modern process is highly automated to achieve high productivity and low costs associated with labor. In the corrugation process sheet metal is pulled off of huge rolls and through rolling dies that form the corrugation. After the sheet metal passes through the rollers it is automatically sheared off at a desired length. The standard shape of corrugated material is the round wavy style, but can be easily modified to a variety of shapes and sizes by simply changing the dies. A great link to see this process in action can be found here. (Click here for Corrugation in action )
Many materials today undergo the corrugation process. The most common materials are ferrous alloys but may also span to stainless steels. Copper and aluminum are also used with great results. Regular ferrous alloys are the most common due to price and availability. Common sizes of corrugated material can range from a very thin 30 gauge (.012 inches) to a relatively thick 6 gauge (.1943 inches). Thicker or thinner gauges may also be produced.
Other materials such as plastic and fiberglass are also given the corrugated look. Many applications are available for these products including using them with metal sheets to allow light to penetrate below. However, these sheets are not formed through the corrugation process.
Pitch and depth
The corrugations are described in terms of pitch (the distance between two crests) and depth (the height from the top of a crest to the bottom of a trough). It is important for the pitch and depth to be quite uniform, in order for the sheets to be easily stackable for transport, and to overlap neatly when making a join. Pitches have ranged from 25 mm (1 inch) to 125 mm (5 inches). It was once common for CGI used for vertical walls to have a shorter pitch and depth than roofing CGI. This shorter pitched material was sometimes called "rippled" instead of "corrugated". However nowadays, nearly all CGI produced has the same pitch of 3 inches (76 mm).

A kitchen gadget is a hand-held, typically small tool or utensil that is designed to perform a food-related function. While appliances and small appliances are powered by electricity or gas, gadgets are hand-powered. Some gadgets, such as the hand mixer, have corresponding electric appliances, such as the electric mixer. Therefore, Other gadgets, such as the citrus zester, do not have a corresponding appliance, except perhaps at the industrial level, which would be considered an industrial machine.

Japanese knotweed for chinese bamboo plant
I want to introduct something about Pinkberry Juice Drink.
Pitaya Fruits Juice The pitaya (pitahaya) fruit is a tropical jungle cactus vine that can grow in soil or on tree bark like the orchid. This cactus originated in Central America and subsequently the plant has been cultivated in various parts of the world and especially in Vietnam over the last 100 years. To grow a commercial crop is a challenge because the cactus can get sunburnt and frost damaged. The plant propagates easily from stem cuttings. The flowers are huge and cross pollination is often required for the fruit. Sometimes even called the "dragon fruit" it is a bit like the kiwi and can weigh up to 3 pounds. With its fuchsia-pink skin and scales, this pitaya fruit is in fact a cactus fruit and so unlike any other fruit in appearance. Cut it in half to reveal the opaque white or red to purple flesh dotted with small black seeds which look like black sesame seeds. Besides the fruit, its flowers and leaves are also edible when cooked. Its flower in full bloo

Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia japonica, syn. Polygonum cuspidatum, Reynoutria japonica) is a large, herbaceous perennial plant, native to eastern Asia in Japan, China and Korea. In the U.S.A. and Europe the species is very successful and has been classified as invasive in several countries.
A member of the family Polygonaceae, Japanese knotweed has hollow stems with distinct raised nodes that give it the appearance of bamboo, though it is not closely related. While stems may reach a maximum height of 34m each growing season, it is typical to see much smaller plants in places where they sprout through cracks in the pavement or are repeatedly cut down. The leaves are broad oval with a truncated base, 714cm long and 512cm broad, with an entire margin. The flowers are small, creamy white, produced in erect racemes 615cm long in late summer and early autumn.
Closely related species include giant knotweed (Fallopia sachalinensis, syn. Polygonum sachalinense) and Russian vine (Fallopia baldschuanica, syn. Polygonum aubertii, Polygonum baldschuanicum).
Other English names for Japanese knotweed include fleeceflower, Himalayan fleece vine, monkeyweed, Huzhang (Chinese: ??; pinyin: H?zhg), Hancock's curse, elephant ears, pea shooters, donkey rhubarb (although it is not a rhubarb), sally rhubarb, Japanese bamboo, American bamboo, and Mexican bamboo (though it is not a bamboo). In Japanese, the name is "itadori" (usually written in katakana). There are also regional names, and it is sometimes confused with sorrel.
Japanese Knotweed is a commercial source of resveratrol supplements. Hu Zhang root extract is a traditional Chinese medicinal treatment.

Invasive species
Old stems remain in place as new growth appears
In the U.S.A. and Europe, Japanese knotweed is widely considered an invasive species or weed. It is listed by the World Conservation Union as one of the world's 100 worst invasive species. It is a frequent colonizer of temperate riparian ecosystems, roadsides and waste places. It forms thick, dense colonies that completely crowd out any other herbaceous species and is now considered one of the worst invasive exotics in parts of the eastern United States. The success of the species has been partially attributed to its tolerance of a very wide range of soil types, pH and salinity. Its rhizomes can survive temperatures of ?35 (?30) and can extend 7metres (23ft) horizontally and 3metres (9.8ft) deep, making removal by excavation extremely difficult. The plant is also resilient to cutting, vigorously re-sprouting from the roots. The most effective method of control is by herbicide application close to the flowering stage in late summer or autumn. In some cases it is possible to er
adicate Japanese knotweed in one growing season using only herbicides. Trials in the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida Gwaii) of British Columbia using sea water sprayed on the foliage have demonstrated promising results, which may prove to be a viable option for eradication where concerns over herbicide application are too great.[citation needed]
It can be found in 39 of the 50 United States (PUSDA) and in six provinces in Canada. The species is also common in Europe. In the U.K. it was made illegal to spread Japanese knotweed by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. In the U.S.A. it is listed as an invasive weed in Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, New York, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Oregon and Washington state.
Two biological pest control agents that show promise in the control of the plant are the psyllid Aphalara itadori and a leaf spot fungus from genus Mycosphaerella.
Uses
Japanese knotweed flowers are valued by some beekeepers as an important source of nectar for honeybees, at a time of year when little else is flowering. Japanese knotweed yields a monofloral honey, usually called bamboo honey by northeastern U.S. beekeepers, like a mild-flavored version of buckwheat honey (a related plant also in the Polygonaceae).
Erect inflorescence
The young stems are edible as a spring vegetable, with a flavor similar to mild rhubarb. In some locations, semi-cultivating Japanese knotweed for food has been used as a means of controlling knotweed populations that invade sensitive wetland areas and drive out the native vegetation.
Both Japanese knotweed and giant knotweed are important concentrated sources of resveratrol, replacing grape byproducts. Many large supplement sources of resveratrol now use...(and so on)

Month of May
Memorial Day
The race has always been scheduled in conjunction with Memorial Day. Through 1970, the race was held on Memorial Day proper (May 30), regardless of the day of the week, unless it fell on Sunday. In those cases it was scheduled for Monday May 31. After the Uniform Monday Holiday Act took effect in 1971, the race was scheduled for Memorial Day weekend instead.
From 1971-1972, the race was scheduled for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
In 1973, the race was scheduled for Memorial Day Monday. However, rain delayed it until Wednesday.
Since 1974, the race has been scheduled for the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The only race not held on Memorial Day weekend was 1986. The race had to be postponded, due to rain, until the following Saturday.
Practice
The two to three weeks of practice and qualifying prior to the race is known in racing circles simply as "the month of May." In early years, the track opened for practice on May 1 (regardless of the day of the week), and at times, as early as April 28. In 1974, due to the energy crisis, the schedule was reduced, and the track opened instead the Saturday three weeks before race day. The change was well-received, and the new schedule was made permanent, with minor tweaks over the years.
The final practice session before pole day qualifying is nicknamed "Fast Friday." The fastest speeds of the month are commonly observed on Fast Friday, as teams and drivers make their final preparations and look for final "bragging rights" before the run for the pole position. Drivers who have been "sandbagging" during the week may chose to reveal their speed, in an effort to distance themselves from the competition. Sometimes the speeds turned in on Fast Friday are overachieved by the respective drivers' due to a tow. Though "Fast Friday" has been a fixture since the 1950s-1960s, the nickname was not coined until 2000. Track records set on Fast Friday (as well as other practice sessions) are considered unofficial. The sanctioning body only recognizes speeds set during the officially competitive sessions of qualifying and the race.
The final day of qualifying, when the final starting field is set is known as "Bump Day" (or "Bubble Day") as drivers who are removed from the field of 33 by being out-qualified by faster cars are said to have been "bumped." The driver with the slowest speed in the field of 33, the first in line to be bumped, is said to be "on the bubble." Unqualified drivers attempt to bump their way into the field and "burst the slower driver's bubble."
The final practice session before the race, currently held on the Friday before race day, is called "Carburetion Day" (shortened to "Carb Day" since 2000). The name originally came from the fact that it was the final session where teams could tune their carburetors in conditions similar to those that may be encountered on race day. The name has remained despite the fact that no qualified car has used a carburetor since 1963. A pit stop competition, a concert, and the Firestone Indy Lights Series Freedom 100 are also currently held on Carb Day.
Concerts
Since 2000, a rock or rap concert has been held on Carb Day. The performers have been as follows:
2000: Smash Mouth
2001: Collective Soul
2002: Better Than Ezra (Nine Days opened)
2003: Cracker (Kenny Br?ck and the Subwoofers opened)
2004: Live (Kenny Br?ck and the Subwoofers opened)
2005: The Black Crowes (22-20s opened)
2006: The B-52's & Third Eye Blind
2007: Kid Rock
2008: Stone Temple Pilots
2009: 3 Doors Down
Last Row Party
On the Friday before the race, the "Last Row Party" has been held every year for charity since 1972. It serves as a roast for the final three qualifiers in the 500, that will be starting on the eleventh and final row. They are usually, but not always, the slowest three cars in the field. Like Mr. Irrelevant, many of these drivers are often obscure, but eight former or eventual race winners have participated in the honor at some time in their career.
Pre race ceremonies
